What’s the PSLP all about?

Posted by littlellighteningbolt

Welcome to the Puget Sound Locavore Project. Here we are dedicated to local, seasonal and bioregional dieting and our hope is to serve as a resource for would-be locavores and established locavores alike, throughout the Puget Sound. We provide information, anecdotes, and links for regional dieting and we are currently in the process of creating a Puget Sound Local Foods Wheel, modeled after the work of Maggie Gosselin, Jessica Prentice (author of Full Moon Feast), Sarah Klein. The Local Foods Wheel is a visual tool intended to help better acquaint consumers with the seasonal availability of their local foodshed. We believe that advocacy for nutritious, sustainable, local foods, paired with meaningful and fair consumer-producer relationships can have a big impact in the Northwest. We believe that food justice is attainable when we collaborate and cooperate.

This is a work in process. If you have information about local foods that you feel will help us develop this project, please feel free to send us a message via the comments link in the bottom right corner of this post. Your input and feedback is greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

The PSLP team

(LLB, cosmicrains, and Renee)
